Beyond the Equator sent me a jar of their 5 seed butter. Being paleo, we cannot have peanut butter. Its been a challenge finding replacements for a few things. Peanut butter is one of them. The almond butters we find also have sugar. So frustrating. Sometimes a girl just want apples and “peanut” butter! We are about 4 months into our paleo journey, so we will start writing more on this as time goes on.
Five Seed Butter tastes AMAZING. So amazing in fact, that Mr. Crazy Life couldn’t stay out of it!
Beyond the equator processes this in a facility free from peanuts, tree nuts, soy, gluten, dairy, egg, and sesame. It is Allergen-Friendly, Non-GMO, Gluten-Free, Vegan, and Paleo.
The Ingredients are simple. They are listed as Roasted Sunflower Seeds, Dehydrated Cane Syrup, Chia Seeds, Flax Seeds, Hemp Hearts, Pumpkin Seeds, Salt and Vitamin E (Natural, Mixed Tocopherols to Preserve Freshness). Sugar is not paleo but in looking at the total sugar it appears to be very minimal per serving. Between the three of us, we managed to finish this jar in less week. It was SO GOOD and it was hard to tell that it wasn’t peanut butter.
There is ALOT of information on what superfoods are good for you, however, only you can make that determination. Every human is an individual, and so is your nutrition. Do your due diligence and seek out unbiased information.
Their story is cited on their site. Carl (Looking to expand his farming operations outside of the United States) began scouring the Western Hemisphere to find the finest superfoods Latin and South America had to offer. Traveling from Mexico to Argentina, Carl searched for the perfect soils and climates to grow nutrient rich grains, beans, and seeds. His travels led him to Bolivia and Peru, home of the lush Sacred Valley. There Carl met local farmers and learned the tools of their trade. The region surrounding the Andes mountains is flush with ripe farmland and an incredible variety of agricultural products — including some of the most nutrient-rich superfoods on the planet, like Chia. Carl, along with his brother-in-law Robert, believed they had found the “Holy Grail” of soil and purchased multiple farms between the two countries. Over the next several years of working directly with the farmers of Bolivia and Peru, Carl and his team perfected the age-old agricultural practices of the region and began producing large quantities of various superfoods. Painstakingly developed over more than a decade, Beyond the Equator launched in 2015 to share these incredible foods with the world. Today, our farmers bring you some of the world’s finest superfoods directly from the rich, historic soils of Bolivian and Peruvian farms to you. As our story continues, we look forward to providing superfoods that fuel the conquests to expand your frontiers.
